OUR PASTOR
Dr. Arthur Werts
Dr. Werts has served as the Pastor of Second Baptist Church, since January 2002. He loves God’s people; and under his leadership, the church has successfully completed the building of a new edifice, improved its infrastructure, introduced new ministries, and has grown spiritually and numerically.
He is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. His family moved to New Jersey where he attended public school. He belief in education has led him to earn two Master Degrees and holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Lighthouse Christian Seminary.
Pastor Werts is married to the gracious and anointed Minster Saundra Werts. God has blessed them with two wonderful children, Candace and Kenneth Sr. Kenneth is married to Shannon and Candace is married to Marcus Bohanon Sr. We have been extremely blessed with five grandchildren, Essence, Marcus, Kenneth Jr, Kiley, and Kenzie.
Pastor Werts retired from the Exempt Organizations Division of the IRS with 33 years of government service. He also holds the rank of Colonel (Retired), United States Air Force.

OUR FIRST LADY
Lady Saundra Y. Werts is a native of New Jersey. At the age of 15, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. While residing in New Jersey, she attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She is a graduate from East Orange High School, and a graduate of the Berkeley Business School, Secretarial Science Program. Upon graduation she was employed as an elementary school secretary for the City of East Orange. Lady Werts expanded her employment by serving as Administrator of a Christian Day Care Center.
Her marriage to Dr. Arthur N Werts, Pastor of Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia has been blessed. It is a grest inspiration for modeling loving kindness and devotion. Their shared open expression of respect for each other as God gifts for one another provides a model for couples pattern a successful relationship. The love shown by her children daughter-in-love, son- in- love and the five grand blessing, is further a testament of God's annointing on her life.
Lady Werts is an ordained minister and has completed her biblical studies at the New Jersey Bible Institute, New Light Christian Institute of Ministry and Kenneth Hagin’s Distance Learning Program.
As a consummate servant leader, Lady Werts serves in several areas of ministry and currently leads Intercessory Prayer, co-teaches bible study, and directs the Women’s Ministry while assisting her husband with various administrative and ecclesiastical duties.
